LOCATION
The winery is located in the so-called golden triangle. The plots are located across six distinct plots, with vineyards over 15 years old, situated at 770 meters above sea level, within the municipalities of Rueda and La Seca.

HARVEST
At Bodega Valdecuevas, the grape harvest begins between September and October, depending on ripeness. To ensure excellent grape quality, they maintain strict vineyard controls—not only monitoring ripeness but also carefully managing yields. This limited production results in grapes with greater concentration, producing wines that are intensely aromatic and generous on the palate.
Valdecuevas is highly demanding in the management of its vineyards, respecting the natural environment while striving to implement the best cultivation techniques—all in favor of its product and its customer.

WINEMAKING PROCESS
This is the perfect blend of modern technology and the traditional know-how of local experts, who understand the behavior of the Verdejo grape better than anyone. Cold skin maceration is carried out in small stainless steel tanks to enhance aromatic extraction. A gentle pressing follows, using only the free-run juice for fermentation at a low temperature (15°C), which typically lasts between 19 and 21 days, depending on the wine’s development. After fermentation, a key process is the stirring of the lees—batonnage—which adds greater creaminess and structure to the palate

TERROIR & CLIMATE
Bodega Valdecuevas’ vineyards and wines benefit from a unique combination of factors:
- Terroir: Stony terrain, filled with pebbles deposited by the Duero River as it passed through the area. The soil at Valdecuevas is one of the key factors behind the excellent quality of its wines.
- Climate: continental, with cold, wet winters and hot, dry summers. The strong temperature contrasts between day and night, combined with careful management of vineyard humidity during the growing season, give our grapes a high aromatic intensity while maintaining ideal levels of acidity and sugar.
